With years of success at dog trials up and down the country, even stretching as far as Belgium, David and Isla and their dogs at Shetland Rural Experience Centre, allow you to see the methods and processes of training dogs to be excellent workers on farms and crofts.
After qualifying in fifth place for the International Supreme Championship, David achieved a hugely impressive 12th place out of 600 dogs at the Championship in 2019.
With this success, a suggestion from Highlands & Islands Enterprise prompted discussion around showing the dogs off to Shetland’s tourists each Summer.
David was the first from Shetland to make it into the Scotland squad. This gained him his entry into the International. It is not only across the United Kingdom that David and his dogs have competed; they also participated in Belgium trials.
David and Isla and their dogs are perfect for demonstrating what dogs can achieve while educating tourists, visitors, schools and other local dog handlers of the processes they go through.
