There are approximately 15 dogs at different levels of ability.
Get a true feel of the process David and Isla go through when training their dogs, from beginner dogs all the way through to fully-fledged working dogs.
Demonstrations and tours are tailored to fit your individual needs. Each family, tour operator or individual visiting have a different time scale.
Tourists and visitors must book and experience the dogs and demonstration for the full 45-60 minutes.
Within that time, you get to meet the dogs and learn about the training methods and how they manage on our farm.
Every dog’s story is different at Shetland Rural Experience Centre; every dog is very unique, where they came from, interesting habits and the things they do.
Depending on the time of the season, you can spend time with lambs or a new litter of puppies. The puppies love interaction and socialising, but most of all, cuddles from adoring visitors.
At Shetland Rural Experience Centre, there are Shetland Ponies and coloured Shetland Sheep. Learn more about the Shetland Ponies, past and present, and find out why Shetland sheep wool has always had such an important role in the daily lives of Shetlanders through the years.
